Fair to the farm
We buy direct and pay above commodity price, so estates can keep investing in quality.
Brew House started with one roaster, one espresso machine and a simple rule: serve coffee we'd be proud to drink ourselves.
We grew up on filter kaapi: strong decoction, hot milk, poured from a height until it foams. Brew House is where that habit met specialty coffee.
We buy green beans directly from estates in the Shevaroy Hills, Chikmagalur and the Nilgiris, and roast them ourselves in small batches so we control every step from the sack to the cup. Nothing sits on a shelf for months. What you drink this week was roasted last week.
The café is built around the bar. You can watch your drink being made, ask what's brewing, and try something new without being talked down to. If you only ever want a strong filter coffee, that's welcome too.
Most of our regulars never queue. They message ahead and walk in to a cup that's already waiting. That's the kind of neighbourhood café we want to be.
Four steps, done in the same order every week.
We taste samples from each estate at harvest and buy the lots we like, paying the farm directly.
Every Tuesday, in 5 kg batches. Lighter for pour-over, a touch darker for espresso and filter kaapi.
Freshly roasted coffee needs time to release gas. We rest beans 7 to 10 days so they brew evenly.
Ground to order and weighed on every shot. Our espresso recipe changes with each new coffee.
We buy direct and pay above commodity price, so estates can keep investing in quality.
Every coffee is labelled with its origin, process and roast date. No mystery blends.
Great coffee shouldn't feel exclusive. Ask us anything, order anything, stay as long as you like.
